Amiral partnered acclaimed dressage rider Kyra Kyrklund and they made many successful appearances on the international dressage circuit during her long time at the Swedish State Stud - Flyinge, where Amiral stood.  In more recent years Amiral has made his mark as a top sire, with many outstanding progeny left to attest to his quality and prepotency which has allowed him to pass on the movement and trainability to his offspring.

Fortunately semen from Amiral taken during his "Golden Years" at Flyinge and with Kyra Kyrklund, still available from Equus Nexus - right here in Australia.

During his outstanding stallion's career he has had 1086 mares and he was competing at top level until he retired in 2001. Later Amiral was sent to USA on loan in 2002.

Amiral’s trainability is proven with so many of his progeny winning and placing in Breeder's Trophy, Young Horse Championships, Dressage, Show Jumping and Driving competitions all over the world. Just to mention a few; Amando 11, who was sold to Germany as a 7 year old is now competing with Gina Capellman-Lutkemeier, they were 9th in the 2002 World Cup and are now doing really well with a 3rd placing in the GP and 2nd in the Kur at the World Cup qualifier in Aarhus, Denmark.

Pether Markne, who rode Amiral at the Sydney Olympics is very successful with the daughter, Amber. She was trained and competed in Germany by Wieger de Boer before coming back to Sweden where she won with Pether in GP and GP Kur. They also won the "double" in Helsinki, Finland. In the Dressage Young Horse classes we find Arric, Virtous who is double Breeder's Trophy winner as well as Lavinia - also Breeder's winner.

Just recently, Ferlin won Team Gold in Driving at the WEG and individual Silver as well as winning the Swedish Championships.

Amiral has a BLUP-index that tops Swedish breeding with 146, followed closely by Briar on 143 (after only his first year on the list) and Cardento on 107.
