Committed to the maxim “there is always better way “, I’m enjoying a life researching and providing actionable methods and processes that move us to the next level.   This has meant searching out and working with the best in their field and never missing the opportunity to learn.  My passion is, nurturing and protecting our nature world, creating a better horses / human deal, creativity in business and art, innovation and embracing one of the infinite number of futures that approach us every moment.

I’ve worked with horses for over 50 years, I attempt to balance this privilege with a social conscience aimed at climate action, gender equity (3 daughters) and the restoration of grass roots democracy. Creativity is my way back to loving life and the daily routine of working with 10 or12 horses never fails.

Horses have been part of the recreational and working life on both sides of the family.  I grew up on a cattle property in the Yarra Valley, Victoria, Australia where horses were an essential part livestock management. The local hunt club worked with farmers to put jump panels in fences. The Polo field attracted royalty and farmers who arrived on game day with horses standing on an open tray truck. The neighbour was a racehorse trainer who I rode for on the side of the hill known as the “neck break”.   I rode 12 miles and swam the river to get to pony club. Paradise for a boy who would rather take the punishment than go to school.

Equus Nexus is a catalyst for creativity within the context of the horse-human relationship. It is the shared experience of people prepared to have a go, to learn and change, to compete for recreation and prioritize animal welfare over all else.

My passion for business is born out of the business consultancy work I did in Australia, New Zealand and the US. The risks can be high, it can be tough, it can be sensational. A significant element of the Equus Nexus charter is the cooperative relationships we build with business owners that share our values.

 It is a privilege to work with the team of people listed below and he clients we serve. The people who share our mission of “a better horse-human deal. It’s about finding the right horse for the right person, it’s about upskilling the partnership, it’s about finding new ways to be with and enjoy these majestic animals that have brought us to the digital age and now, as art and recreation continue to transform the way we live.
